Attack Attack!

Attack some veils, pierce some attackers... whatever you do, it’s time to take action! Come September 9th at Ellen Melville Hall in Auckland, ATTACK ATTACK! from Ohio, U.S.A., and PIERCE THE VEIL from San Diego, California, will be storming stages and taking no prisoners as they both perform for the first time on New Zealand soil. They will be supported by local acts Cast Them To Ruin, East Of Eden and Awaiting The Storm. It'll be hot and heavy - the perfect combination to take away those winter blues and immerse yourself in musical goodness.

Attack Attack! have overcome many obstacles to cement their place in the music scene. Signed to Rise Records, AA! have been to hell and back in their short career to date – firing founding member and vocalist Austin Carlile in 2007 whilst in the middle of a nationwide tour, only to have replacement vocalist Nick Barham quit a little over a year later - so many obstacles in a short period of time would see many bands crumble. But fortunately, for this determined young band, nothing could shake them from pursuing their dream, and keyboardist Caleb Shomo was quickly announced as the band's full time vocalist, seeing the band take a slightly heavier direction.

With their own brand of metal, which may or may not include elements of dance at some points, Attack Attack! should be one to watch, if only for their on-stage crab-like moves (ever heard the phrase ‘crabcore’? Attack Attack! are the epitome of this term). Arriving in NZ fresh from a Summer long stint on the Vans Warped Tour, as well as the release of their self-titled album 'Attack Attack!' which peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Top 200, Attack Attack! will be out to impress, blazing in all their passion and energy.

San Diego natives Pierce The Veil will also be making their debut New Zealand performance, after releasing their second album ‘Selfish Machines’ earlier this year to positive reviews. As well as providing suitable eye candy for all the ladies, their music is a perfect blend of rock, hardcore, and a little pop, all matched with vocalist Vic Fuentes' unique voice. Think Saosin mixed with Circa Survive and a dash of Emarosa. Their live performance is not one to be missed, not too heavy but far from light - Pierce the Veil deserve all the recognition they can get and will be sure to please.
