 2011 just got a hell of a lot more exciting! Coup De Main is overjoyed to announce that (our long-time love) JIMMY EAT WORLD are finally making their way to New Zealand for one show only in Auckland, on April 13th at The Powerstation. Excited? We certainly are. Touring in support of the recent release of their latest album 'Invented' - Jimmy Eat World are bringing with them the talented Courtney Marie Andrews, whose voice you may recognize on several of the tracks on 'Invented'. When we spoke to Jimmy Eat World bassist Rick Burch just a couple of months ago - read our interview HERE - he mentioned that the band had always wanted to play in New Zealand and promised that one day they would meet their kiwi fans in their home country, and luckily for us the band have made good on that promise. Armed with a back-catalogue of exceptional music spanning their sixteen-year career, the band are well established as alternative-rock legends and their #2 peak on the Billboard Alternative Albums chart for 'Invented' - their sixth studio release with their current line-up - prove that the band still have the same energy and musical magic that they did when they broke into the mainstream with their iconic album 'Clarity'... way back in 1999. As anyone who has seen Jimmy Eat World live before will confirm, the band put on a polished and energetic performance that everyone should experience at least once. Their performances at Soundwave Festival in Australia earlier this year received positive reviews from fans and critics alike, and with their set-list spanning all of their huge back-catalogue, it's safe to say that old and new fans of Jimmy Eat World will have their musical hunger suitably satisfied post-April. Also, for all you super old school Jimmy Eat World fans, we have on good authority [see our interview] that it is likely Tom Linton will resurrect his position as frontman and perform 'Action Needs An Audience' live - the first song he has sung on since their first album. This show is definitely one not to be missed and we expect it to sell out quick-sharp!
