DEERHUNTER have been hailed as a near ‘religious experience’ by Queen Karen O, which is high praise from the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s front-woman. Formed in 2001 by multi-instrumentalist Bradford Cox, the band’s takeover of the indie world has been quick and colourful, gaining them acclaim in the form of support slots for Nine Inch Nails, TV on the Radio and The Smashing Pumpkins. Infusing shoegazing rock with shots of thrift-store electronics and a savage live show, Deerhunter have been hailed as one of the most exciting acts around this side, of the turn of the century.
