 I'm so excited I can barely breathe! For the first time in over thirty years - a.k.a. the first time in my lifetime - DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES are returning to New Zealand! [ For the record: I'm incredibly jealous if you were lucky/old enough to attend Hall & Oates' 1980 NZ show at the Logan Campbell Centre. ] Hall & Oates will be joined by Australian band ICEHOUSE and local band Goodshirt, to play two A DAY ON THE GREEN winery concerts at Napier's Church Road Winery on Saturday January 28th and Auckland's Villa Maria Estate on Sunday January 29th. About the upcoming tour, Hall says: "I haven't been to New Zealand in way too long. The people are great and I know that they love music. We're all going to have a good time." "Starting out as devoted disciples of earlier soul greats, Daryl Hall & John Oates scored six US #1 singles, ‘Rich Girl’, ‘Kiss On My List’, ‘Private Eyes’, ‘I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)’, ‘Maneater’ and ‘Out Of Touch’ from six consecutive multi-platinum selling albums. Along with ‘Sara Smile’, ‘One On One’, ‘You Make My Dreams’ and the sublime ‘She’s Gone’, they racked up a phenomenal 34 Billboard chart hits. By 1987 the RIAA (Record Industry Association of America) recognised Daryl Hall & John Oates as the number one selling duo in music history, a record they still hold.
