 This year, Christmas is coming early... more specifically it’s coming to New Zealand, December 19th. However instead of barbeques with the family and food hangovers... think rock, think loud, think Green Day. Pop-punk turned anthemic rock legends Green Day, are adding to the already stellar year of tours performing in Auckland, for one night only at Vector Arena on Saturday December 19th. Straight off the back of a North American and Australian tour promoting their critically acclaimed release '21st Century Breakdown' (read our review of the album HERE), this marks Green Day's first trip to New Zealand shores since their noted 2005 performance. With their 2005 tour selling out in a matter of hours, this show is expected to do the same! So make sure you set your alarms and secure your ticket to one of the greatest shows you will go to this year. In an attempt to deter the ever-present ticket scalpers, Green Day have teamed up with Frontier Touring to deliver two unique initiatives, so that fans can secure the best tickets. 300 General Admission tickets (limited to two per person) will be held at the Vector Arena box office on the morning of July 1st in a throwback to the good old days of rock shows where internet purchasing wasn’t so prevalent. Also, physical copies of the tickets will only be released in early November, with any tickets purchased before-hand coming as a receipt of purchase. For Frontier members, pre-sale tickets go on sale Thursday 25th June until the allocation sells out. The full allocation of tickets will then go on sale Wednesday 1st of July. These will go fast, so don’t delay! UPDATE: The support act for the two Auckland Green Day concerts on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th December will be Melbourne three piece band Calling All Cars.
