Review: M·A·C Cosmetics 'Magic Of The Night' Collection.

Review: M·A·C Cosmetics 'Magic Of The Night' Collection.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! By that, I mean it's time for M·A·C Cosmetics to release their annual holiday collection. This year's offering, titled 'Magic Of The Night', is full to the brim with deep shades and bold hues - plus lots and lots of sparkles. The collection boasts super pretty metallic packaging and a bunch of gorgeous sets which would make perfect gifts for the upcoming holiday season (aka you can totally buy everything as a present to yourself).
Check out the official info below…

"Get ready for an enchanted evening that just won’t stop. Play it cool this holiday with eyes in deep smoky hues, and lips that boldly lead the way for a night of unexpected thrills. Jazz it up with new Colourdrenched Pigment in pearlized, creamy hues. The magic is in the night, darlings. Let’s have some fun."

Because M.A.C are rad, they sent us some products to play with ahead of the collection's release - and it's safe to say that we are now 100% ready to tackle this year's holiday season with sparkly eyelids and fierce lipstick. Check out out impressions below...

'ASCENT OF GLAMOUR' Colourdrenched Eye Shadow Pigment - RRP $52.00 NZD [worn below]
This frost eyeshadow, described as a 'cobalt violet-blue' is the purple to end all purples. It's packed with a mesmerizing blue and purple shimmer, yet it's still very wearable. The beauty of this colour is that you can wear a little bit and keep it subtle, or go for an all-out glamour look. This new Colourdrenched Pigment formula is new to M.A.C's shelves, but sadly it's limited edition. I'd highly recommend getting your hands on some of these eyeshadows, cus they really live up to their name. The colour payoff is INSANE.

'DARK SIDE' Lipstick - RRP $44.00 NZD [worn above]
'Dark Side' is not a new shade for M.A.C, but it's certainly fitting with this collection's overall look. It's a dark, amplified burgundy that's ideal for perfecting a bold lip with a subtle shine. The twist here is that this version of 'Dark Side' comes with limited edition metallic purple packaging. The colour itself is what I'd call a tamer version of M.A.C's cult shade 'Diva', and it's very easy to wear/apply. It's perfect for a vampy look, especially if you want a change from the typical matte finishes that these dark shades are so popular in.

These products are available in New Zealand now at all authorised M.A.C locations.

P.S. We also got to try out the pink Mini Patentpolish Lip Kit, so keep an eye out for our review of those lip products in our upcoming issue!
