Following the immense success of the 2020 television adaptation of Sally Rooney's second novel, 'Normal People', her first novel 'Conversations With Friends' is being adapted - with Joe Alwyn, Sasha Lane, Jemima Kirke, and Alison Oliver to star.

The plot of the novel follows two college students in Dublin, Frances and Bobbi, and the unexpected connection they develop with a married couple, Melissa and Nick.

The 12-part show is being created by BBC Three in partnership with Hulu and will be directed by Lenny Abrahamson (who also directed Normal People), with filming taking place later this year.

Executive producer and company director of Element Pictures states: “Alison, Sasha, Joe and Jemima are the dream cast to lead Conversations With Friends and all of us at Element are so excited about the incredible scripts from our amazing team of writers which we have been developing."
