Leisure have shared their latest single, 'Diamonds' - from their latest studio album, 'Welcome To The Mood'.
The band shared via their Instagram: "This song was started on an acoustic guitar at an Airbnb in Los Feliz, Los Angeles while on tour for our last album Leisurevision on a hazy blue sky day. It was initially a more subdued and introspective sounding arrangement but we felt Tom’s verse melody and lyrical theme had a pure and magnetic essence.
The chorus melody was a genius wildcard idea from Paul who is more known for his rhythmic talents behind the drum kit. Nobody in the collective could quite replicate the nuance of the notes he sung in on a whim only once, not even Paul himself. So when it came to tracking actual studio vocals it became a challenge.
One evening back in our hometown of Auckland, New Zealand about 9 months later we ventured to rescue the song from the dreaded demo folder with an upbeat energy and with new life perspectives. It morphed into a celebration feeling of hope and positivity and things clicked into place with the other songs we had shortlisted for what was to become the Welcome to the Mood album.
