"The key arc of Peter's journey is him learning that he can’t do this alone," reveals Tom Holland about his new escapade, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' - the latest big-screen instalment of everyone's favourite web-slinging superhero. "Tonally, the film feels more mature. Audiences will relate to what the characters are going through. I really think this is our best film yet."

Co-star Zendaya adds: "So much of this film is about Peter realising that it is impossible to do anything entirely by yourself. Everyone needs a support system... It’s the only way to get through life – especially when you’re Spider-Man."

On-screen wingman Jacob Batalon shares: "Peter is undergoing a major transformation and MJ and Ned are oblivious; they’re living their lives with no recollection of the guy who had been with them every step of the way. Peter is fighting back the emotions of seeing Ned and MJ, and he’s trying to decide how to move forward, alone. Most of all, Peter doesn’t want to re-engage with his friends because that’s part of his evolution as Spider-Man. Still, he must keep them safe, even if it’s from afar."

Holland further explains about the trio's fourth Spider-Man film together: "A fresh start, where Peter Parker is experiencing something profound and unique in the superhero genre. It’s a movie about when young people find their identity and become adults. Peter is embarking upon a new chapter. He’s made the ultimate sacrifice to protect MJ and Ned and the entire world, and that’s having a catastrophic effect on his personal life and even his health."

Zendaya says: "This is a new chapter in MJ’s and Ned’s lives. When they move back to New York, they must figure out how to become adults. That idea resonated with me because I remember when I was trying to figure out who I wanted to be in the world. It’s a pivotal time for MJ and Ned, as it is for most people."

Braving a London heatwave, Coup De Main recently hung out with Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon to behold the trio's drawing prowess, debate twin beds, and create a limited-edition 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' zine ("We're making a zine, guys!" declared Zendaya excitedly during the process)...

COUP DE MAIN: In 'Captain America: Civil War', Tony Stark asked Peter Parker: "Why you doing this? What gets you out of that twin bed in the morning?" Tom, what do you think the Peter Parker of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' would say if he were asked that same question?
ZENDAYA: Hmmm...
TOM HOLLAND: Well, let me tell you something that always really confused me about America... why do you call those beds, twin beds?
JACOB BATALON: I actually don't know.
TOM: Because they're only for one person.
JACOB: Right... it's the size?
ZENDAYA: If they're together, they make a whole bed, and if you had twins, you would separate <moves her hands apart> them.
TOM: But there's only one twin. A single bed is what we would call it.
ZENDAYA: But two of them together, like two twins together, would make a queen.
JACOB: A queen-size.
TOM: But what do you have when you only have one of the twins?
ZENDAYA: Well, what do you call a twin when they're by themself? They're still a twin, aren't they?
TOM: I guess that's true.
JACOB: We figured it out! <laughs>
ZENDAYA: I just made that up. I have no grounds to stand on.
TOM: That always confused me.
JACOB: Don't say misinformation--
ZENDAYA: <laughs> As fact! But that's what I think.
TOM: I remember shooting that scene and being like, 'Does he think this is a double bed? Because it's definitely a single bed.'
ZENDAYA: <looks at CDM and laughs> Sorry.

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is out now in cinemas.
