María Zardoya is teasing possible solo music...

María Zardoya a.k.a. the frontwoman of the band The Marías, has been teasing something mysterious on her Instagram. Zardoya shared a phone number to her personal Instagram story this morning with the message "text me when you get home 323-405-9903".

Once a text has been sent to the number, a voice message from María responds saying: "Hey, it's María! Thank you for adding me to your phone. This is gonna be really fun. I hope you're ready."

In an interview earlier this year with Nylon, Zardoya shared when asked if she had any plans to release music of her own outside of The Marías - she shared:  “Perhaps... No radio-friendly songs for that project.”

María shared with Coup De Main back in 2024 about powerful feelings: "I think fear dictates a lot of our decision-making as humans, and someone told me the other day that 100% of our decisions are emotional. Even the person who says, 'I'm gonna make the most logical decision about whether I'm going to do this or do that,' even that, in and of itself, trying to be logical, is an emotional response to control. Control stems from fear - it's fear of the unknown so you try to control it and then try to be logical about it. There's an emotion there, and I think fear is at the root of a lot of decisions because at the end of the day, we want to feel loved, we want to feel accepted, and I think we fear not being loved and not being accepted."
