Coup De Main to donate $1 from every Fontaines D.C. zine pre-order to Medical Aid for Palestinians.

At every opportunity, Fontaines D.C. have utilised their platform to support Palestine - from broadcasting the messages "free Palestine" and "Israel is committing genocide - use your voice" at Primavera Sound 2025, to designing a football shirt fundraiser for Medical Aid For Palestinians (which Greta Thunberg recently wore aboard her Freedom Flotilla mission to Gaza), and in their absence, asking Irish-Palestinian artist Róisín El Cherif (who recited part of a poem from Palestinian poet Samih al-Qasim) to accept their 2025 Irish Album Of The Year award for latest album, 'Romance'.

"If you create art that deals with pain or conflict or struggle or anything like that, then you have a responsibility to address it," emphasised Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten in conversation during a recent U.S. tour-stop in Indianapolis.

Fontaines D.C. have chosen MAP (Medical Aid For Palestinians) as the cause that proceeds will be donated to. 

 For over 40 years, Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) has worked to uphold the health and dignity of Palestinian communities. Our vision is a future where all Palestinians have access to an effective, sustainable, and locally-led healthcare system. Through long-standing partnerships with trusted local organisations in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, and Lebanon, MAP supports essential health services and strengthens local capacity to address pressing health needs. Our programmes are designed and delivered by Palestinians for Palestinians—building skills, delivering care, and responding rapidly to humanitarian emergencies. Beyond this, MAP bears witness to the injustices of occupation, displacement, and conflict, advocating internationally to ensure Palestinian voices are heard and that the systemic barriers to their health and dignity are challenged.

Since October 2023, MAP has mounted its largest humanitarian response in its history, as Gaza has endured over a year of relentless bombardment and siege. With the health system on the brink of collapse, MAP continues to provide life-saving support. In 2024 alone, we reached nearly one million Palestinians through partnerships with 16 local organisations, offering medical aid, clean water, food, and dignity kits. MAP has organised and deployed emergency medical teams to Gaza, bolstering a healthcare system under constant attack. In October 2024, MAP launched the “Solidarity Polyclinic” in central Gaza, delivering comprehensive healthcare, mental health support, and emergency services to hundreds of patients daily. No matter what comes, MAP will continue to provide lifesaving care and a strong voice in support of justice for Palestinians.
