Halsey has just dropped the first single and accompanying music video from her upcoming sophomore album, ‘Now Or Never’, following teasing its release last week - and we promise, it’s definitely worth the wait.
In it, she sings about a tumultuous relationship: “Been through the ups / Yeah the ups and the downs with me / Got a whole lot of love / But you don't wanna spread it 'round with me…”
The music video was directed by Sing J Lee & Halsey, and follows the ‘Romeo & Juliet’ inspiration for the concept album.
The album, ’Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’, is set for release on June 2nd. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, she revealed she’s worked with Greg Kurstin (!!!), Benny Blanco, and Ricky Reed (who's previously worked with her pals Twenty One Pilots).
She also said: “The whole reason you make a record is to figure stuff out about yourself. I had killed off a version of myself just so we could make our love work,” and: “I put the seal on that relationship and fully purged myself of the feelings for that person at the same time as I finished my record.”
