U.S. cable channel TV Land has green-lit a pilot for a half-hour series based on the 1988 cult classic film, 'Heathers' - which starred Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, and Shannen Doherty.

Both Troye Sivan and Hailee Steinfeld star in the new campaign for American Eagle, which celebrates young talented men and women through the #WeAllCan initiative.

Chad Kessler, the company’s Global Brand President said their goal is to: "Encourage Young America to follow their passion, express their individuality, and pursue their unique path.”

Here it is! The Laneway Festival line-up for 2017 has been announced, and it’s a goodie - featuring the likes of AURORA, Julia Jacklin, Tame Impala, and many more exciting acts!

It’s an exciting time to be a fan of The Veils - they’ve just dropped their new album, ‘Total Depravity’, and they’ve also just been announced as part of the Laneway 2017 line-up.

About playing the festival, Finn said: "It's exciting enough for us to be coming home to play in Auckland, but playing Laneway makes it doubly exciting - like winning a sail then finding out it's full of hula hoops and chocolate.”

Chloë Sevigny has directed her first ever film, ‘Kitty’, for which a trailer has just been released via her Instagram account.

The film is due for release across the upcoming film festival circuit this year, and tells the mystical story of a girl transforming into a cat.

About the film, she says: “I wanted to do kind of a throwback to kind of those 80s films where they had an element of practical effects and makeup and stuff. I thought it was so visual and cinematic and so delicate I could make a really beautiful whisper of a film.”

Halsey has teamed up American leather-boot company, The Frye Company, as one of the faces of their new ‘Modern Icon’ collection, alongside Dylan Penn and others.

Laneway Festival have just announced Nick Murphy (the new incarnation of Chet Faker) as the first act in the 2017 festival line-up.

Previously known under the musical name of Chet Faker, Nick Murphy took to social media to explain the change of name, releasing the following statement:

Dua Lipa has dropped a music video for her latest single, ‘Blow Your Mind (Mwah)’, which is made up of the ultimate girl-gang you ever did see.

It’s a sassy video of solidarity, and I personally am obsessed with the ‘Dua for President’ sign in the video.

The SPCA’s Auckland Canine Department is currently full to capacity with puppies and dogs needing new loving owners - as they are struggling to find room to house the 35 dogs they’re currently looking after.

As well as plenty of puppies available, there are also a number of adult dogs needing adoption - which often get overlooked, but are just as deserving of a home.

If you, or anyone you know has been considering a puppy or a dog, now is the time to do it, as the influx is making it harder for the SPCA to continue their great work with animal welfare.
