A Pandora x Dreamgirls Art Collective Appreciation post.

Pandora has partnered with the Aotearoa-based Dreamgirls Art Collective to create a limited-edition collection of charms inspired by Matariki. The collection will be available at select Pandora stores across New Zealand from 1 July until 26 August (or while stocks last).

You can purchase your very own charms in-store or Pandora's website here.

#1. This partnership marks Pandora's first ever collaboration with New Zealand artists - and it is exclusively available in Aotearoa!

The marketing director of Pandora has shared: "The Dreamgirls trio has created something incredibly special – a body of work that honours stories deeply connected to Aotearoa while speaking to universal themes of identity, connection and hope...We're proud to partner with artists who use their platform to inspire and empower others and are honoured to help bring their vision to life through both public art and jewellery."

#2. There are a total of nine charms available in the limited-edition collection, with each of the charms representing one of the stars - and includes elements that symbolise strength, unity, and new beginnings in the spirit of Matariki.

• Matariki
• Tupuānuku
• Ururangi
• Pōhutukawa / Manu Tukutuku
• Waitā
• Waitī
• Waipunarangi
• Tupuārangi
• Hiwa-i-te-rangi

#3. Pandora has collaborated with Aotearoa-based Dreamgirls Art Collective to create the charms in the collective's distinctive style.

#4. The three artists involved in the Dreamgirls Art Collective are Miriama Grace-Smith, Xoë Hall, and Gina Kiel. Their art adorns many public and private spaces throughout Aotearoa - including street art, galleries and digital spaces.

Miriama from Dreamgirls Art Collective shared on the collaboration: "Matariki is a time to pause, reflect on those who have come before us and think about the future we're creating together. We wanted this artwork to celebrate those ideas in a way that feels hopeful, joyful and  alive... Public art has the power to meet people where they are. To be able to share stories grounded in te ao Māori at this scale, in the heart of our own city, is incredibly meaningful. We hope people see themselves, their whānau and their aspirations reflected in the work."

#5. As part of the collaboration, Dreamgirls Art Collective also created a mural in their home city, Te Whanganui-a-Tara - with each element of the mural reflecting the meaning of a different star, such as remembrance, hope, winds, waters, and land.

The mural can be found in the heart of the Wellington's creative quarter at the intersection of Ghuznee and Leeds Streets.

You can purchase your very own charms in-store or via Pandora's website here.
