For veterans of the internet, Tessa Violet is a well-known name - rising to fame in the late 2000s as an YouTube star, Violet has made numerous career endeavours including vlogging, acting, and singing. 

Violet’s music career began under the name ‘meekakitty’, and although she does already have an album out - this has since been removed from Spotify as she wanted to start over with her real name - growth and self-reflection are in fact some of the themes of her upcoming album, which will be split into three parts.

Matty Healy speaks out against paid meet & greets.

The 1975's Matty Healy has taken to Twitter to take a stand against musicians who charge their fans for meet and greets. The concept has become popularised and normalised over recent years, where musicians - small and large alike - will only meet certain fans who pay extra money for a quick photo and a hug. Healy berated musicians and their labels, shouting: ‘DON’T ONLY MEET THEM IF YOU’RE GETTING PAYED HONESTLY WHAT ARE YOU DOING’.

As the only female member of up-and-coming New Zealand band Daffodils, Jade Bryham is helping to further the conversation around women in music, just by existing as a young women in the industry. The band are in the middle of ticking off a number of firsts - from signing a global release deal with Kartel Music Group, opening for Pale Waves in New Zealand last year, and playing St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival last month in Auckland.
