After his first visit to New Zealand in September 2017, Finneas O'Connell has been routinely visiting our shores with his sister Billie Eilish - but this visit last week saw not only his first ever visit to a black sand beach, but also his first ever proper performance on our shores, opening up for Eilish’s arena show.
The 1975 have just announced that fellow Dirty Hit signee No Rome will be the support artist for their upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour this September.
We can only hope this means they’ll perform ’Narcissist’ together live!
Following the release of new song ‘Doom Days’ last week, Bastille have now announced their album of the same name - which will be released on June 10th - and have dropped the closing track to the album, ‘Joy’.
Alongside the highly anticipated album announcement, the band have announced a run of nine club shows throughout small local venues in the UK, which will see fans experience a ‘apocalyptic party’ club night, warming them up with DJ sets before taking them on a journey through the narrative of the album, which the band will play live from start to finish.
In the middle of his tour opening up for his sister Billie Eilish, Finneas has dropped a brand new single, ‘I Lost A Friend’ - a heartfelt song about a friendship falling apart, with Finneas realising, “I know I’ll be alright / But not tonight.”
"It's kind of a deep cut," ponders Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig, as he contemplates drawing a sharpie face onto a tangerine at the suggestion of a minder from the band's management. "It's a deep reference," he concludes, alluding to a lyric in 'How Long?' ("What's the point of human beings? A sharpie face on tangerines") from their new double-album 'Father Of The Bride', before deciding that the element of fun is worth it. This is peak Koenig.
Ahead of his upcoming Auckland show at the Bruce Mason Centre on May 24th (which is very nearly sold out!), Ruel has today shared a brand new song, 'Painkiller' - which is the lead single from his forthcoming follow-up EP set for release later this year.

Banks has returned today with a fiercely unapologetic new song, 'Gimme', which debuted earlier today as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music's Beats 1, and is her first new music since 2017's 'Underdog'.
About the new song, Banks says: "'Gimme’ is a song about getting what you want. It’s about knowing what you deserve, saying it out loud, and demanding it with no apologies. I’m ready to release this into the world and begin a new chapter."
