Interview: Rex Orange County on 'Apricot Princess' and life lessons learnt from love.

Having attracted early attention from the likes of BadBadNotGood, Two Inch Punch, and Benny Blanco with his 'bcos u will never b free' mixtape, Alex O'Connor, aka Rex Orange County, can now also count Tyler, The Creator as a collaborator, having co-written 'Foreword' for new album 'Flower Boy' (as well as sung on 'Boredom' and provided background vocals for 'Garden Shed'). The 19-year-old Haslemere native even popped up recently as a member of Frank Ocean’s live-band during festival performances in Sweden and Finland last month.

Interview: Halsey on 'Hopeless Fountain Kingdom' and choosing herself.

"This record is about going through what I thought was going to be my only love, and then realising it’s simply my first," says 22-year-old Ashley Frangipane (best known by her musical moniker of Halsey), to me earnestly with unwavering eye-contact. Thoughtfully, she concludes that, "What I’ve learned from this is I need to trust me, and I need to choose me, no matter how much that makes everybody so mad to hear a woman decide to choose herself."

Interview: LANY on love, relationships, and their self-titled debut album.

LANY open their debut self-titled album with Paul Klein singing the lines, “Oh my god, I think I'm in love” (on ‘Dumb Stuff'), an honest proclamation of love which surmises the band in a nutshell, as an outlet for frontman Klein’s thoughts on love, relationships, and breakups - all set to the incredibly distinctive LANY sound, created as a collaborative effort between all three members.

Interview: Astrid S on her 'Party’s Over' EP.

On her single ‘Such A Boy’, Astrid S delivers the opening lines, “Say you need more space / What are you, an astronaut?” with the most sass we’ve heard in all of pop music this year - a song which single-handedly showcases the Norwegian popstar's thoughts on the ridiculous gender norms which exist in society.

And talking to Astrid S on the phone, her thoughts are just as eloquent as her songwriting - from discussing the metaphors within her ‘Party’s Over’ EP, to the importance of being a role-model to her fans.
