The third and final day of 2017's Governors Ball Music Festival took a turn for the worst weather-wise, with rain bringing a slight dampener on the day - but nothing could stop the excitement of the last day.

EDEN took to the Bacardi stage in the late afternoon, receiving a warm welcome as he brought his electronic fuelled R&B, while also performing a set which audience members could watch while seeking solace from the rain outside of the tent.

With the first day of the annual Governors Ball Music Festival treating audiences to the likes of Bleachers, Lorde, and Chance The Rapper - the second day had a lot to live up to, but it managed to succeed regardless.

June 1st is an important date for any fan of The 1975 - so the story goes, that frontman Matty Healy named the band after reading a note scrawled on a copy of a book he was lent, which read ‘June 1st, The 1975’, and the rest, as they say, is history. But June 1st, as of last night, will go on to not only be remembered for the band’s origin story, but for their sold-out, unforgettable performance at the iconic New York City venue Madison Square Garden.

The first day of the three-day musical extravaganza Governors Ball Music Festival saw an array of musical talent on show, including the likes of Kehlani, Charli XCX, Lorde, Bleachers, and many more take to the four stages of the festival.

The sparse layout of the festival, which takes place annually on Randall’s Island, lends itself to approximately 150,000 attendance (aggregated over the three days), yet handles its huge capacity with ease - something which many festivals struggle with.

Lorde has unveiled ‘Perfect Places’, the second single from her upcoming sophomore album, ‘Melodrama’. The upbeat, wistful track is the final track on the album and, like the rest of the record, was co-written with Jack Antonoff.

Haim returned to London last night to play their first gig in the UK's capital for over three years, with the show filmed for an upcoming documentary about the band which will be released through Apple Music.

Secrecy was key to the night - details including the time and location of the invitation-only show at Islington Assembly Hall were kept under wraps until a few hours before doors opened, and attendees were prohibited from using their phones during the performance.
