It’s been a long time since Harry Hudson released his first ever song, ‘World Is Gone’ back in 2013 - and a lot has happened since. After overcoming Hodgkin’s lymphoma with eight months of chemotherapy treatment, Hudson emerged out the outer side with new music, and went on to release two EPs.

Since then, Hudson has become part of the MSFTS collective (Jaden Smith’s collective), through which he helped to fundraise money to build a cancer treatment centre in Vanderbilt University.

Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, four-piece Slow Pulp (comprised of Teddy Matthews, Emily Massey, Henry Stoehr, and Alex Leeds) have spent the past few years since releasing their ‘EP2’ touring the country and honing their dreamy indie-rock sound.

Just listen to their latest release ‘Steel Birds’, an anthemic warning against players - with a guitar riff that’ll be stuck in your head for days.

Writing, recording, and releasing a song every month for twelve months straight is no easy feat, but from late 2016 to September 2017, Bruno Major did just that - each song providing a different glimpse into his songwriting talents.

Now working on music outside of those constraints, Major is set to follow up ‘A Song For Every Moon’ with a new collection of songs, the first of which, ‘Old Fashioned’, has just been released.

Having released his ‘Don’t Forget About Me, Demos’ EP last year, Dominic Fike made his first ever live debut as part of Pigeons & Planes’ No Ceilings show this week, where he played songs from the EP, as well as a taster of upcoming new material.

Ahead of the release of 'Rocketman' (out in New Zealand on May 30th) soon, a new trailer has been released for the upcoming biopic, which stars Taron Egerton as Elton John.

"Rocketman is an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years. The film follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John.

Having started out his career in comedy coming up through the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade, Paul W. Downs has been honing his acting skills ever since then through his recurring role in ‘Broad City’, as well as branching out into production and writing with his partner Lucia Aniello with their film ’Rough Night’ from 2017 (which starred the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Zoë Kravitz, and Kate McKinnon).

In the bridge of ‘In My Head’, Maisie Peters sounds at her most sincere, and most vulnerable - “I'm still hurting and I'm still here,” she softly acknowledges, and like the rest of the six song EP, Peters’ heartfelt honesty is at the forefront.

The 18 year-old singer-songwriter has already kicked off the new year with a brand new song, ‘Stay Young’ (co-produced by New Zealander Sam De Jong), a bittersweet ode to growing up which sees her storytelling woven through an upbeat drum beat.

In a move that is sure to have everyone at Dirty Hit rolling their eyes at him, The 1975's Matty Healy seemingly decided on the spot in an interview with Matt Wilkinson on Beats 1 today that the band will release the first single from their next album 'Notes On A Conditional Form' at midnight on May 31st.

Healy said: "Listen. Okay then, the first single comes out midnight, May 31st... I just made it up, but I'm 100% doing it."

And when asked if he knows what song it will be, Healy replied that he's currently deciding between three songs.

Jorja Smith performed 'Don't Watch Me Cry' from her debut album 'Lost & Found' last night at the 2019 BRIT Awards, during which she also won the award for British Female Solo Artist and dedicated the award to "all the little girls and women who are just being themselves and loving everything they're doing."
