Interview: I Don’t Know How But They Found Me’s Dallon Weekes on his upcoming album.

On their debut single ‘Modern Day Cain’, Dallon Weekes sings that “the deepest of convictions are the darkest positions" - inspired by the priest character (played by Arthur Darvill) from The BBC’s TV show ‘Broadchurch’, with the song touching on religious iconography [Cain - i.e. the son of Adam and Eve], sin, and everything in between, on top of a song laden with retro-sounding synths.

Following on from a slew of releases of One Direction covers via BandCamp, Repulsive Woman (aka the moniker of Dunedin-based musician Millie Lovelock) has dropped her debut single in the form of ‘Relief’, a lo-fi look into a worried mind - which utilises Lovelock’s self-taught cello skills.

We spoke to Millie about the new single, her songwriting, and of course, One Direction…

Mac DeMarco and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals announced for Laneway Festival 2018.

Christmas has come early this morning, with the announcement from Laneway Festival that two acts have already been announced for the 2018 edition of the festival - in the form of Mac DeMarco and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals.

The festival is set to take place next year on Monday 29th January at the stunning Albert Park Precinct, with the full line-up to be announced on Tuesday 12th September.

Mister Goodnite (aka Mini Mansions’ Tyler Parkford and Drab Majesty’s Alex Nicolaou) have finally dropped their new mixtape ‘Nite In The Attic’ - which features the already released ‘Fast Times In The LBC’, ‘Adulteress’, and more older cuts.

Self-described as an “intoxicating expo of under-lit romance, mystery, horror, adventure and much much more,” the mixtape features samples from Light In The Attic Records - each given new life through the LA-based duo.

I Don’t Know How But They Found Me - 'Modern Day Cain' music video.

Following the release of their debut single ‘Modern Day Cain’, Dallon Weekes’ new musical endeavour now has an accompanying music video for the song too.

The video shows Dallon and his bandmate Ryan Seaman performing the song as part of the ‘Superstar Showcase’ - a cable network talent show - and even includes a choreographed dance that Dallon and Ryan do.
